FINANCIAL AID PROGRAMS
Financial Aid02All students will receive a copy of The Student Guide for Financial Aid which is published by the U.S. Department of Education. The school is designated as an eligible institution by the U. S. Department of Education for participation in the following programs.

FEDERAL PELL GRANT

The Federal Pell Grant Program is intended to give eligible students financial access to the college of their choice.  Federal Pell Grants do not have to be repaid and the Pell Grant eligibility determination is the foundation upon which all other federal student financial aid is built. Federal Pell Grants are awarded only to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor’s or professional degree (a professional degree would include a degree in a field such as pharmacy or dentistry). Awards can range up to $5,350.00 per academic year and are based on the financial need of the family or individual and the cost of education. Students are notified of their Federal Pell Grant eligibility through an Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR). This report is electronically transmitted directly to the College and student by the federal processor. The U.S. Department of Education employs a uniform formula to evaluate the information contained on the student aid application and to determine the index of need (EFC). In order to receive an award, the ISIR must be reviewed and eligibility confirmed by the Financial Aid Office.

FEDERAL SEOG

Under this system, the Department transfers funds to a specially designed bank account for the College to award eligible Federal Grant and Direct Loan recipients. The Department of Education does not forward a separate check to the College for each student. Students who applied for a Federal Stafford or Federal PLUS Loans will have their federal loan disbursements sent directly to the College via EFT by the lending institution. Their account will be credited and any federal funds remaining after payment of all charges are issued to the student in the form of a check at the end of their academic year, the student has the option to apply those funds to future charges. Federal Financial aid disbursements are made at the beginning of each quarter. An estimated award letter is used by the College to notify the student of the award and shows projections based on the student’s enrollment status. These amounts are subject to change if for any reason the student’s enrollment status changes.
