Sales Representative

The primary functions of professional sales is to generate and close leads, educate prospects, fill needs and appropriately satisfy wants of consumers, therefore turning prospects into customers. The successful questioning of a customer in order to fully understand his goals and requirements relevant to the product, the creation of a viable solution for that customer, and the communicating the necessary information that encourages a customer to buy is the responsibility of the salesperson. A good salesman should never mis-sell or over evaluate the customer’s requirements. (Source: Wikipedia)

Many employers hire individuals with previous sales experience who lack a college degree, but hiring candidates with a college degree is becoming increasingly common. Regardless of educational background, factors such as personality, the ability to sell, and familiarity with brands are essential to being a successful sales representative.
