Hospitals

There are a great many hospitals in this country serving a multitude of purposes. Of the more than 6,500 hospitals currently operating in the U.S., some are long-term some are short-term, some are public and some are private, some are community operated and some are teaching hospitals affiliated with universities. Some focus on specific problems such as rehabilitation from injuries. Others focus on specific diseases or disease types, such as cancer, heart problems and other. From a career perspective, hospitals offer opportunities in a great many fields. While the more obvious are directly medical related, hospitals also employ accountants, business people, human resource managers, IT technicians, cosmetologists, massage therapists and more.
