Surgery Centers

Surgery centers are designed for procedures that can be done outside of a hospital, usually without an overnight stay. Most specialize in just a few specific, or even just a single, area of practice, such as eyes, hand, heart, joints, cosmetic surgery, etc. Their growth in popularity comes from the improved technology that allows these procedures to be done outside of the hospital, plus the more luxurious settings that these facilities often provide. It is estimated that about 65% of all surgical procedures are now done on an out-patient basis, both in hospitals and in surgery centers.
