Meet Amanda Basdeo, CPR’s Very Own M.O.M (Marketing Operations Manager)
Amanda grew up in Industry - a small community on the East Coast of the Demerara river in Guyana, South America - with her parents and seven (7) siblings. After finishing her studies Amanda started her professional career working for Clear Connect, Inc. as a Live Chat Agent for one of the world’s largest telephone companies, AT&T. After her contract there ended, her search for a new job yielded an opening at Consult PR, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Marketing Operations Manager or MOM as we prefer to call her, Amanda Basdeo, has dedicated over 5 years of her life to ensuring the smooth running of our marketing team. Amanda joined CPR in May 2013 as an Account Executive and has worked her way up the ladder by continuously displaying excellent leadership qualities and a diligent work ethic.
Amanda is often referred to as our M.O.M, not because of her 1-year-old son Triston although she as evidenced is a proud new mom. It may have started because that’s her current job title in abbreviated form, but the real reason it has stuck is because of her nurturing and motivational attitude towards everyone within our team. If you’ve ever spoken to her, you know that she’s honest, soft-spoken and always willing to roll up her sleeves and help get things done. Amanda as they say about good leaders that are good teachers...she won’t just tell you how to do something, she’d much rather show you and help you!
Happily married to husband Avinash, Amanda enjoys spending time with the two most important men in her life, taking long drives in the countryside and dining out regularly. When asked where she sees herself in 10 years, Amanda said she hopes to continue growing her family, and she intends to still be at Consult PR, growing our team and ensuring that we provide the best service possible for our clients.

What makes Consult PR stand out from our competitors?
As someone who understands a lot of the intricate workings of our company and our industry, Amanda says the biggest differentiators for CPR are that we don’t try to tie our clients down with a contract, we always offer a consultation where we explain why we do what we do and our wide variety of services are offered under one roof leading to some amazing efficiency that benefit our clients in ways most don’t even realize.
What are your goals with the company?
Amanda is very proud of what she has been able to accomplish within her short time here at CPR. Moving from Account Executive, to Senior Account Executive, Senior Marketing Liaison and now Marketing Operations Manager. She doesn’t want to stop here though, she wants to educate herself on how to be a better leader and how she can empower and mold other members on our team within whom she sees potential.
Who do you credit for your success?
Definitely her parents. She recounted that religion always played a big role in her household and helped teach her how to keep her head and her standards high. Her father always encouraged her (and her 5 sisters) to aim high. She lives by the philosophy that she will always give more than she receives, basing it on her favourite Bible verse, Acts 20:35: “ In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
Time and time again Amanda has shown her proactive attitude and ability to use initiative to the benefit of our clients. If you ever have the opportunity to speak to our President, Paul Ramkissoon, you’ll soon find out that he carries a healthy dose of confidence along with the attached ego that drives our firm to new heights in the digital marketing realm. To see him and Amanda interact, is truly something resembling “opposites attract”. He often refers to her as as his “right hand” and the glue that holds our marketing team together. We look forward to her continued leadership as she continues to elevate our firm, while also exceeding the expectations of our clients in the years to come.
