What Are Local Service Ads? Are They Right For You?

In an attempt to make reaching local customers easier, Google introduced Local Service Ads. Local service ads are positioned just above the traditional Pay-per-Click (PPC) ads. Google’s regular PPC ads can bring in traffic from a variety of sources, and they aren’t all necessarily good leads. Google’s local service ads go a step further by connecting advertisers with the right consumers and vice versa. 

How Does It Work?

When a searcher clicks on a local advertisers’ listing, Google will ask them some questions to determine their service area and confirm the job they’re looking for. If you/your company fits the job and serves that area, you’ll be matched to the searcher and they’ll be able to review your qualification, ratings, and reviews before calling you. At this point, you would be charged for the lead. On the other hand, if you’re not a good fit for the job or you don’t serve their region, then Google will refer the searcher to a more appropriate Local Service Ad.

Local Service Ads are limited to certain industries so not every advertiser can benefit from this service. As it stands now, Google offers Local Service Ads to advertisers in these industries
